The Warning playing at the Sphere

Been thinking about that.
Haven't been able to decide if a guest spot like that really should be an entry in the database.
Never did it when Pau and Dany joined Dead Poet Society or when they did Highway to Hell on ShipRocked.

At the moment I'm thinking to just add any videos from these shows to the "Love to be Loved" thread.
I reserve the right to change my mind though. ;)

Have only seen one video of the full song yet though. From the 4th.

Would it be a good idea to include The Warning playing Love To Be Loved at the Sphere in Las Vegas on the 4th, 5th, and 6th of September? It was essentially just them with Carin Leon joining on vocals. I think it should be included in the database.
For sure! 'Hurt' by DPS and The Warning is in this database so why not 'Love To Be Loved' by The Warning and Carin Leon. I vote yes.

it's different than those examples They are playing their own song in this case.

Have been thinking about it too. It's not their show and it's only a 1 song collab. I think adding it to the song discussion thread is the best way.

I think that all TW appearances should be in the database, perhaps under different categories, for example: 1) CONCERT for their own gigs (either as main act or opening act) and 2) GUEST CONCERT APPEARANCE for their guest appearances in other artists' concerts. It's only my opinion. The same can be applied for their Studio Recording Sessions. Thanks for this nice website, it's another sign that TW is becoming a world class band. 👌💯

While we're at it. Should the digital download only instrumental versions of Everything's Fallen be included in the database?
At the very least I should add it as an alternative version of the album.
As we have with XXI Century Blood where the CD release has 2 extra songs compared to the Vinyl.

I agree that all TW appearances should be on the site.
That's why we absolutely will add them to the song discussion thread if they are not played at a TW show or other session.

The problem with that solution is that Hurt, Show Them and now Love to be Loved all still stands at 0 plays which I can agree feels questionable.
(It also gets complicated if you start to wonder if Show Them with Dany only should count?, Hurt with only Pau and Dany? etc.)

Shall try to figure out a way to address this.

I think you should list the Sphere performances as shows in the database, and my reasons for thinking that would be something like:

  • They are more than just guest appearances since it was the full band performing, and that required some amount of production and likely some staffing from TW team (including things like setting up the full drum kit with mics and everything). Pau and Dany joining DPS is different because they joined for a song that DPS were probably going to play anyway since Hurt is their song, and it didn't require any sort of production other than plugging in two additional mics for vocals.
  • LTBL is a song by The Warning, featuring Carin Leon, not the other way around, even though it was performed as part of his show.
  • They played 3 nights which is basically a mini-tour. And again, the full band did perform, making the commitment required from TW and their team almost on the same level as touring as a supporting act for another artist.
  • When they played Highway to Hell at ShipRocked, wasn't that at one of the same dates where they had already played their own set earlier in the day? Meaning their appearance at ShipRocked is already listed in the database, it just doesn't have that song as a separate show (maybe it should be, but you could also just add the media links to the entry for TW's own show that day)
  • Other shorter appearances were TW only played 1 song (like for example the Latin Grammys) are already listed in the database as distinct shows.
  • Shows that were never publicly announced ahead of time (therefor not "official" shows), like for example the Carleton private show in 2024, are listed in the database.
  • These performances not appearing in the database makes it look like September 2026 was way less busy for TW than it was. It's just nice to in the future be able to refer back to the database and be reminded of all the things they were up to in any given month.
