This was one hot show. My gauge read 102F (39C) at the start of the show. Right around 4 hours of good live music.
This is where Dany had a bee on her fretboard in the first pre-chorus of 'Z'. You can see this at 1:10 in my video (linked above).
My introduction to TPR & LZ. First time seeing Halestorm live. Really enjoyed it.

Yeni..... That was a scorcher with the sun at our backs as it went down. Black TW Tour shirts of high quality material, didn't help us much either. LOL
A few memorable things about the adventure, beside the awesome music and performance TW put on that evening....

1) I had just got off bed rest a couple days prior from a heart attack and 3 operations with 4 stints installed 3 weeks past. I didn't know if I was going to make this show or not. A friend who was a complete Halestorm fanatic, flew in to join me from NOLA the day before, and drive us to the show a few hundred miles away. We left early AM day of, arrived at the venue at 3pm, managed to get on the Rail smack dab in front of Ale. Sick! I left that spot once to get something to drink, use the facilities, and get some merch. Stood at the Rail until Halestorm was over and got to our room at midnight. I stood for 9 hours, after not standing for more than 30 mins for a month. I almost didn't make it back to car from the stage. It kicked my butt. I would do it all over again tho. It was amazing.

2) I met Yeni in front of the stage before The girls started. He seen us at the rail, and approached us to introduce himself. I thought the world of that, and of him for doing such. I knew I chose the right band to support, and that only enforced that decision. the community at large is just as important to me, as I am always full throttle when I stand behind something I believe in. I feel it in my bones how much I believe in TW organization. Thank you Yeni, you really don't know just how much that simple gesture affected me as a whole.

3) I decided to record the show as my friend (Keith) was going to stream it. He had asked that I take pictures of them since he couldn't, so I didn't record Enter Sandman. But I got some really cool pictures. I made a video and shared it on my YT chan. Both our links are above as well.

4) We met one of Lzzy Hales friends (the bands personal chef) and he joined us at the rail. Lzzy & Joe was constantly in our face the whole show, reaching over to high five and what not for almost 2 hours. After, Arejay came over and shook all our hands, then gave us some show stuffs.

GMan, I am so glad we made the connection that evening. I remember being shocked at your dedication and perseverance in your current state. Kudos to you for likely ignoring your doctor's advice on this one and making it all the way. There were not too many TW shirts in the crowd when we all got there. I saw yours right away, we seemed of similar vintage, and I thought why not say Hi. I am so glad I did. So happy that connection continues today.

I was spending that week driving my household goods back from Washington DC to the desert SW after a 12-month duty assignment in the Capital. I arranged my driving schedule to meet up with the Mayday tour on the trip home. Bought the tickets in the pit area as a treat to myself. That was day three of my drive. I parked my crap at the hotel. Walked the 40 minutes to the venue in that blistering sun, yes and in my black Warning Wear.

I had seen them with about 230 fans in Reading PA in May. What a great intimate engagement that was. This was a very different experience in a much larger outdoor space with a crowd neutral to The Warning. I really enjoyed talking to people before DPA started about what to expect, then to talk to the same after to get their reactions. There were a lot of new Warneros that evening.

Thank you Yeni! We will hook up again at a show sometime. Next time we will let each other know, and can get some hang time for it.
If I knew you had walked, we would have got you back.

I got released and Dr's ok to travel 3 days before the show. It was a close one.
I had a show to go to the day I got operated on. Needless to say, I missed that one. LOL
I didn't get released to fly for 6 months tho, and did miss another show planned.
I got sick and missed the Sonic Fest in OH too. $500 VIP tickets for 2 days, and I couldn't resell, or even find someone to take them for free. Been a rough year for concerts.

I'm not Missing the Aug 17 '23 Indy show for TW!!!!
If I'm in a casket, someone needs to take me anyways. lol
